Earn points as a guest

I need clients to be able to earn points as a guest too. At this moment they seem to earn points as a guest but as soon as they sign up for the loyalty program the points disappear from their account. So I need all clients (guests and customers) to be able to earn points when they make a purchase and they still need to be visible if a guest account changes to a customer account.
